In 2016, Primax began sponsoring the Kipp-Inspired School in Taiwan (KIST) OT program at Taoyuan Elementary School to the tune of $10 million over 5 years. We therefore started looking at other ways of supporting the community beyond financial sponsorship. These included regular purchases of pesticide-free, organic pineapples grown locally and the promotion of Bulaku social enterprise’s agricultural produce.

COVID-19 and higher temperatures due to climate change produced a glut of organic Golden Diamond pineapples. To help local small farmers including Mr. Hu, the Bunun language teacher at Taoyuan Elementary School, weather the crisis, Primax took the lead in purchasing 400 pineapples that employees can apply for and try out. We hope this will inspire employees to join in ordering these quality pineapples and help out Taoyuan community in Taitung.
